FA Cup action is on the menu tomorrow evening (19th September) when the Peacocks welcome Merthyr Town to Wordsworth Drive for a 2nd Round Qualifying Replay, ko 7.45pm.

Both sides will have the incentive of a home draw in the next round with the winners hosting Sheppey United a week on Saturday but first the teams will have to fight it out again over 90 minutes following the 1-1 draw at Penydarren Park on Friday evening. The Peacocks will be fully aware what task awaits them tomorrow as the Martyrs amply demonstrated why they are doing so well in the Southern League Premier South this season and they will travel to Somerset with quiet confidence that they can cause an upset and scoop the £3,375 prize money.

Town meanwhile boast a 100% home record after winning their opening four National League South fixtures at Wordsworth Drive but in a one-off cup tie that statistic can count for nothing, something which Head of Football Rob Dray recognizes, saying:” We certainly have to be better than Friday, that’s for sure. Merthyr showed what they can do so the importance of turning up in the right frame of mind is massive while there are also certain aspects of our game that need to improve. We will pay them the respect that is due, but our home record has been superb this season and I want us to continue in that vein tomorrow. With a home tie in the next round the incentive is there to progress and hopefully the public of Taunton will come out in numbers to get behind us.”

The Peacocks name an unchanged squad from Friday.
