Defender Luke Ward has put pen to paper and becomes the Peacocks’ 7th new face of the summer. The 20 year old whose favoured position is centre half trialled in the pre-season games against Frome, Swindon Supermarine and Tavistock, and Head of Football Rob Dray saw enough to add him to what is a strong-looking squad for Town’s new start in the National League South.
The youngster has played for Wolves and Shrewsbury Town U18’s before signing for Bromsgrove Sporting in September 2020. He gained further experience with Kettering Town and Hednesford Town last season. Luke commented:” I’ve really enjoyed my time so far at the club and I’m looking forward to playing my part for the team in their first season in the National League. There is a great blend within the squad and I’m very excited to be a part of it.”
The Town boss added:” Luke is another young lad with experience in the National League North who will add great competition to the squad. He has all the tools to be a top centre back.”
