Lee Lucas

Midfielder

Competitive Debut: 10/10/2020 v Farnborough (A) as sub, Southern League

First game for the Peacocks: 11/08/2020 v Clevedon Town (A), Pre-Season Friendly

A classy midfield man with League experience, Lee joined the Peacocks in May 2020. Internationally he has represented Wales at Under 17, Under 19 and Under 21 level whilst he previously had a long association with Swansea City, joining them at the age of 8 and winning the club’s Youth Development Player of the Year for 2009-10. He then signed a pro contract for the following season and made his Swans debut in May 2011 after coming on as a substitute against Sheffield United.  He was loaned out to Burton Albion and Cheltenham Town during his time with the Swans but found progress frustratingly hampered by injury and was released by them in May 2016.

In the summer of 2016, he signed a contract with Scottish Premier League club Motherwell where he spent the season, but further injuries restricted him to 11 first team appearances. He resumed his career back in his native Wales when he joined Merthyr Town at the start of the 2018-19 season where he spent two seasons before his switch to Somerset. Lee’s quality was evident from the start, but he endured a frustrating first campaign with the Peacocks after being injured during a pre-season friendly against Bideford which limited his involvement to four substitute appearances and eventually necessitated an operation on his metatarsal. Lee returned to the side for the 2021-22 campaign but suffered a ruptured ACL at Kings Langley in October which ended his involvement for the season. However, he showed his fighting qualities by returning to full fitness and playing a major part in the Peacocks’ first year in the National League South.
