The Peacocks are through to the 3rd Round of the Southern League Challenge Cup after beating Truro City 3-1 at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium this evening.

A much-changed Town side thoroughly merited their victory after building a three goal lead by the break. Jake Wannell opened the scoring after 13 minutes when he headed in Jay Foulston’s corner at the far post before Foulston himself doubled the tally five minutes later with a fine strike into the bottom corner. Jared Lewington then steered home a header from Foulston’s cross on 26 minutes to give the Peacocks a healthy advantage which they never looked likely to relinquish. City did pull a goal back on 70 minutes when Zac Hartley’s effort curled beyond Will Buse into the far corner but it was merely a consolation as Town comfortably progressed.
