An equaliser three minutes from time denied the Peacocks victory as they were held to a 1-1 Southern League draw at Walton Casuals this afternoon.
In a scrappy game which never reached any great heights, Town held the advantage at the break thanks to a goal in the 36th minute, Joe Budd laying the ball off to Toby Holmes who drilled a clinical finish into the corner. The Peacocks appeared to be edging to victory until the 87th minute when Rohdell Gordon’s tame cross from the right evaded everyone to nestle inside the post. A bad tempered end to the match saw the hosts’ Adam Liddle and Town’s Jake Wannell sent off after a confrontation as it finished a point apiece, a result which sees Town slip a place to 10th.
