The Peacocks will be hoping it is a case of third time lucky when they travel to Farnborough in the National League South tomorrow evening (16th August), ko 7.45pm.
Town have yet to get a win in the bag at their new level after two games, a draw at home to Welling United on the opening day of the season being followed by a single goal defeat at Concord Rangers on Saturday. They will be aiming to change that record for the better when they take on a Farnborough side which accompanied the Peacocks up to the National League from the Southern Premier South after winning last season’s Play-Off Final against Hayes & Yeading United. The Hampshire side have also secured just the one point so far, but it was so close to being three. After losing 1-0 at Hemel Hempstead on the first day of the campaign, Borough conceded a penalty equaliser to Dulwich Hamlet eight minutes into stoppage time on Saturday and had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Cherrywood Road. It will undoubtedly be another tough test for Town then against a side who have boosted their squad over the summer with a number of acquisitions including Omar Rowe and Jordan Norville-Williams from Hayes & Yeading, 25 goal striker Liam Ferdinand from Metropolitan Police, midfielder Kenny Davis who made 20 League Two appearances for Sutton United last season and the recent loan signing of prolific forward Tony Lee from Poole Town
The Peacocks know they will need to start converting their chances after their first two matches have seen them fail to find the net. Midfielder Joe Guest returns to the squad after missing the Concord Rangers game while international clearance has finally come through for striker Nat Jarvis who is also included. Head of Football Rob Dray remarked:” Another hard away midweek game to follow up the long trip on Saturday. It will be a huge test, but the first two games have shown it is often about small margins as we get to grips with things at this level and I don’t believe we are far away. One penalty conceded in two games is a very respectable start defensively, now we have to step up and focus on being more clinical at the other end.”

After a few hundred yards exit at the second slip road – signed A325 Farnborough – turn right at the roundabout and cross over the dual carriageway and a small roundabout. Pass the Farnborough Gate shopping centre on your left and at the next roundabout turn left onto the A325. Go over a pelican crossing and at the next set of lights take the right filter into Prospect Avenue. At the end of this road turn right at the roundabout into Cherrywood Road. The ground is half a mile on the right.
