The Peacocks are one game away from winning the Southern League Premier South title after beating Tiverton Town 1-0 this afternoon.
The only goal of the contest came early after four minutes when Jay Foulston netted a fine free kick which went in via the underside of the bar. Town went on to have the better of the first half before the hosts featured more after the break and came close early on when Gary Warren saw his nudge from Jordan Lam’s centre pushed onto the post by Will Buse. There were few chances to follow as the Peacocks ground out a vital victory to maintain their top of the table position and leave them needing a point from their last game against Farnborough this weekend to claim outright promotion.
