More good news for Peacocks’ fans is the confirmation that midfield man Matt Buse has agreed terms to remain at the Viridor Stadium for the 2018-19 campaign. He featured in 31 of Town’s games after rejoining the club from Gosport Borough last season. However two of the Peacock squad have decided to seek pastures new, with Brett Trowbridge set to link up with Street and Les Afful joining Buckland Athletic. We would like to thank both players for their efforts whilst with the club and wish them good luck for the future.

Manager Leigh Robinson remarked: “We have lost Les and Brett who decided to move on this week for very understandable reasons. Les wants to wind his football down a bit, spend more time on his business and with his family so a move to Buckland made sense as it’s local to him. Brett has recently moved to Shepton Mallet and has his first baby on the way this summer so decided to play locally so he can be there to support his partner. Brett also wants to play centre midfield after suffering the facial injury playing in defence for us last year and Street were willing to offer this whilst I saw him more as a centre back for us. Being impartial I think both have made the right decision in their circumstances and we wish both the best for the future. Brett has the fantastic memories of captaining the club in the FA Cup first round and Les winning the title last year so we’ve enjoyed having them and I’m sure they’ve enjoyed their time at the club.”
