It’s been a long time coming…football is back at Wordsworth Drive this evening when the Peacocks take on Weston-super-Mare in the Vanarama National League South, ko 7.45pm.

An inspection has passed the pitch playable, meaning there is a home game to enjoy for the first time since early February. Town will be eager to maintain their recent improvement in form which has produced two terrific victories on the road while Weston will want to bounce back from Tuesday evening’s home defeat to St Albans City, a result which leaves them in 15th place, eight points ahead of the Peacocks having played two more games.

Please come and support your local side in this big Somerset derby!

Last meeting: the Seagulls have been familiar opponents over the years, most recently on 2nd April 2022 when the Peacocks grabbed a memorable 3-2 win at Wordsworth Drive. Gethyn Hill and Joe Budd gave Town a two goal lead before goals from Jordan Bastin and Kieran Thomas either side of the break brough the scores level. However a superb free kick from Ben Adelsbury snatched victory one minute from the end. Relive the match highlights HERE
