The Peacocks are in Southern League Challenge Cup action tomorrow evening (30th November) when they travel to Weston-super-Mare for the 4th time this season, ko 7.45pm.

There will be no chance of any Town fans getting lost going to the Optima Stadium although hopefully the journey home will be more cheerful than the three previous visits which have seen the Seagulls knock the Peacocks out of both the FA Cup and FA Trophy and most recently securing the three points in the League following a 2-0 victory a fortnight ago. Weston have won two of their three league fixtures played since then to sit one place below Town in the table on goal difference with equal games played.

Weston have been drawn at home in all their League Cup ties so far, beating Frome 3-2 and then Slimbridge 3-1 in earlier rounds. This will be the Peacocks fourth game in this season’s competition, having beaten Bideford on penalties after a 1-1 draw in North Devon and then thrashing Barnstaple 6-0 before eliminating Truro City 3-1 at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium at the beginning of this month. The 3rd Round tie tomorrow will see Town try and reach the quarter final stage for the first time in their history.

Jake Wannell and Joe Budd return to the squad after serving one game suspensions, but Dan Sullivan is still not fit. Head of Football Rob Dray said:” Rotation will again be key with so many games coming up in the next month. However, it’s a competition we are looking to do well in, and we will be doing our utmost to progress.”
