There is Boxing Day local derby action at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium when the Peacocks take on Weston-super-Mare, kick-off 3.00pm.

Town have seen their last two games at Paulton Rovers and Farnborough both postponed due to the wet weather so they will be keen to get back to BetVictor Southern League duty tomorrow with the Seagulls making the short journey down the M5. Only Tiverton out of the top five sides played at the weekend, their victory putting them at the top of the table, but the Peacocks remain well placed in fourth, seven points behind but with two games in hand.

Weston have not set the division alight since being relegated from the National League South last season, currently occupying 11th spot with 26 points from 19 games. Their most recent League match saw them win 4-0 at Harrow Borough on Saturday, their second successive win which halted a run of three defeats on the bounce, and they will undoubtedly be wanting to narrow the 11 point gap between the sides tomorrow to maintain their interest in the promotion mix. The Peacocks though will be out to gain payback for their 2-1 defeat in the 2018-19 Somerset Premier Cup Final which was held over to be played during this pre-season, a late Rocky Neal goal being too late to affect the outcome of the game. Neal is in a rich vein of form at present, now sitting at the top of the divisional goalscoring charts after bagging seven goals in his last four league games, the opening goal against Metropolitan Police earlier in the month now being awarded to him after closer inspection.

Head of Football Rob Dray is able to name a fully fit and available squad which trained on Saturday morning after the Farnborough game was called off. The Town boss commented:” Training was great on Saturday, but the boys are desperate to play a game. Weston are obviously a big club with ambition and resources to go straight back up. It’s therefore a big ask but the boys are in fine form and are hungry to be let off the lead. Add to that a big, noisy crowd and hopefully it will be a great day.”
