After Good Friday’s impressive Vanarama National League South win at Bath City, the Peacocks return to the Cygnet Health Care Stadium tomorrow afternoon (10th April) with the visit of Slough Town, ko 3.00pm.

Barring a disaster, victory at Twerton Park should have confirmed Town’s tenure in the National League for next season but with seven fixtures left to play the onus will still be very much on amassing as many points as possible to earn a mid-table finish in their first season at Step 2. Four wins from their past six games has given the Peacocks the spurt needed to haul themselves up to 16th and after last weeks’ win over Concord gave them a first home victory in six attempts, they will be aiming to repeat the trick against their Berkshire visitors tomorrow.

The Rebels occupy 18th spot at present, seven points clear of the relegation trapdoor but again will want to capture a few more points to make demotion a mathematical impossibility. They will travel to the Cygnet in buoyant mood after ending Chippenham’s 15 game unbeaten run on Good Friday with a 6-1 demolition job at Arbour Park, their loan striker from Bromley George Alexander scoring four of the goals. After ending the month of March with three defeats, April has been kinder so far with a well-earned point at Hemel Hempstead followed by the Chippenham trouncing. The Berkshire side will also be chasing the League double after an Elliott Benyon goal clinched the points back in September.

Nat Jarvis serves the final game of his suspension while Lee Lucas begins his four game ban following his red card against Ebbsfleet. Head of Football Rob Dray remarked:” We have really stepped up to the plate in the last half dozen games and I don’t want all that good work to lose its value now. Although it is an exceptionally tough ask, we will be doing our best to win all our remaining games to finish as high as possible. Slough had a great result on Friday so as always I’m expecting another hard tussle but we are well prepared and ready to carry on from where we left off at Bath.”
