After the battering from Storm Eunice, the Peacocks will be hoping for better weather prospects when they welcome Hendon to the Cygnet Health Care Stadium tomorrow afternoon (19th February), ko 3.00pm.

The stadium escaped any real damage following today’s onslaught whilst there are currently no issues with the pitch so it should be all systems go as Town seek to register their 10th Southern League victory on the bounce to keep the pressure on the three teams above them in the table. This rich vein of form has produced an unbeaten run of 16 competitive games and with their remaining home fixtures after tomorrow being predominantly against teams in the top ten, they will be eager to sign off February at the Cygnet with another win.

Town will also be out to redress the balance after Hendon scored two first half goals to win 2-0 in the earlier meeting of the sides at the Silver Jubilee Stadium in October. To put that result in context, the last time the Peacocks were beaten in the League was at Weston-super-Mare in mid-November, the last time before that was that defeat by the Greens. The North London side currently lie in 12th position, having won 12 and lost 16 of their 32 games played but haven’t won on the road in their last five matches since beating Wimborne in early December. However they secured a point recently at Yate Town before narrowly losing by a single goal at Metropolitan Police last weekend so it will be another awkward task for the Peacocks tomorrow. The Greens have had something of a squad reshuffle this past week, bringing in centre half Matt Hall from Biggleswade Town and striker Hani Berchiche from Wingate & Finchley whilst three players have departed.

Head of Football Rob Dray has the luxury of naming an unchanged squad from last weekend’s encounter with Swindon Supermarine. He remarked:” We have to keep finding ways to win, it’s as simple as that really. As a group they have been fantastic this season with everything that has been thrown at us as a club, but we keep going and churn out results. It will be difficult again, Hendon were superb when we went there so we owe them.”
