After the postponement of Tuesday’s game, the Peacocks will hope to resume Southern League action when they welcome Hartley Wintney to the Cygnet Health Care Stadium tomorrow afternoon (11th December), ko 3.00pm.

Town are unbeaten in four matches and will be hoping to extend that sequence with victory over their Hampshire visitors who are sitting further down the table in 19th position and without a win in their last six league games since beating Swindon Supermarine in October. Following that 1-0 win they went on to lose five of the next six fixtures, with their only point coming from a home draw against Yate. Three points will therefore be the aim for the Peacocks to consolidate their place in the top ten, with only five points separating the sides between 6th and 14th.

The Peacocks have the chance of their first league double this season, having won 2-1 in the reverse fixture in early October. Gethyn Hill’s goal on the hour looked to be steering Town to victory until the Row got on level terms three minutes from time. However a last minute header from skipper Nick Grimes secured the win. Jared Lewington potentially returns to tomorrow’s squad after recovering from Covid, but Jake Wannell begins a three game suspension following his dismissal at Walton Casuals last Saturday while Dan Sullivan and Ross Staley remain on the injured list. Conor Hartley is playing for Ashton & Backwell to get game time.

Leaving the club are defender Jack Goodall who has joined Larkhall Athletic and goalkeeper Marko Radovanovic who has signed for Mangotsfield United. We wish them both well.

Head of Football Rob Dray remarked:” It is imperative we keep the intensity and ‘hard to beat’ mentality going. No game in this league is easy though but at home we are a big threat and are ready for any side.”
