The Peacocks face an important game in the Vanarama National League South when they travel to Chippenham Town tomorrow evening (14th March), ko 7.45pm.

Although Town secured a point at Cheshunt on Saturday, it wasn’t enough to stop them slipping two places down the table to 19th. Chippenham sit one spot lower in 20th and on equal points albeit having played three fixtures more so the outcome of tomorrow’s game is vital. Three points for the Peacocks could see a climb back up to 17th if results elsewhere go their way, if other scores don’t play ball and Town lose, then they could slip into the bottom four.

The Peacocks will be chasing their second League double after beating the Bluebirds earlier in the season at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium. However it is going to be another hard task tomorrow with the Wiltshire side in decent nick at present, defending an eight game unbeaten League run since losing at Dartford last month. Following that defeat they played out six successive draws before winning their last two games, away at Weymouth and a 3-1 home victory against Dover at the weekend. At home they have lost four from 15 although only one of those defeats has been in 2023 so it is going to take a big effort from the Peacocks to secure a positive result tomorrow.

Surmising tomorrow’s clash, Head of Football Rob Dray said:” Following up clean sheets in this league is crucial. This starts tomorrow when we know we will have to be focused and organized against a side on a good run of form. Defensively we were sound on Saturday, and I want to see the same tomorrow. We have a full squad and look forward to an away game closer to home for a change.” Centre half Dan Ball returns after missing the Cheshunt match through illness.
