The Peacocks will be hoping to maintain their long unbeaten League record at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium when they welcome Braintree Town in the National League South tomorrow (3rd December), ko 12.30pm.

The game constitutes the first ever meeting between the sides as Town look to utilize their home advantage to hopefully secure their 5th home League victory of the campaign and further ascension up the table from their current 16th place. Last Saturday’s draw at Hemel Hempstead made it three games unbeaten for the Peacocks but they know that sequence will be put to the test against the Essex outfit tomorrow. The Iron, whose nickname derives from their original incarnation as Manor Works, the works team of Crittall Window Company, have been members of the National League since gaining promotion in 2006 and have spent seven of those seasons since in the top tier, with their best season being 2015-16 when they finished third.

This time around they sit in 5th position with 33 points from 19 games, having won four and lost six of their 10 matches on the road. Their most recent three pointer away from home came with a 3-0 win at Hampton & Richmond Borough at the end of October while the following month saw them win just the once from four games. The Peacocks name an unchanged squad from last weekend, with boss Rob Dray expecting another tough battle. “Tomorrow is a massive test against another top 6 side. Braintree have been established at Step 2 and above for a considerable number of years so it will be a good yardstick of where we are. We are on a nice little run at the moment and realise what you need to do week in week out at this level, and with our excellent home form we go into the game with confidence.”

Please note the early kick-off time of 12.30pm
