The Peacocks begin a trio of games on the road when they travel to Hemel Hempstead Town in the Vanarama National League South tomorrow (11th November), ko 3.00pm.

Another league trip to Truro City and an Isuzu FA Trophy tie at Welling United follow in the forthcoming week but first there is the prospect of taking on a Hemel side which has experienced mixed fortunes so far this season. Five victories and four defeats from 15 fixtures sees them currently occupy 15th place with three of those wins coming at Vauxhall Road including the notable scalps of Yeovil Town and Torquay United. Recent form has produced one win from their past five league matches, a replica of Town’s record from their most recent quintet so a closely fought encounter is on the cards in Hertfordshire tomorrow.

With last Saturday’s game lost to the weather and cup duty in midweek, the Peacocks have not played a league game since drawing at Chelmsford City a fortnight ago, this period of inactivity seeing them slip down to 11th in the table, three points ahead of tomorrow’s opponents. Town name the same squad that was on duty for the Somerset Premier Cup game with Street in midweek, with Head of Football Rob Dray commenting:” Tomorrow sees the start of a tough stint of ten games before Christmas. Hemel is a notoriously hard place to go against a well-established National League side who have beaten Yeovil and Torquay at home. However, the squad are in good spirits and go there looking for a positive result.”
