The Peacocks will attempt to recover from last night’s dispiriting defeat to Slough when they play their final away fixture of the Vanarama National League South season at Farnborough tomorrow (13th April), ko 3.00pm.

There are four games remaining for Town to pull off a great escape, but they will need to quickly get the Slough match out of their system as they prepare to take on a Farnborough side vying for a place in the play-offs. Their 3-1 win over Chippenham Town yesterday evening lifted them up to 7th spot in the table as they bounced back from a single goal home defeat to Maidstone United last weekend, a result which ended a fine run of seven successive victories since losing to Yeovil Town at the beginning of March. Home form has been good for Farnborough too with 12 wins and six draws from their 22 games played so they will be eager to sign off their home campaign with three points towards their play-off push and to avenge the conclusive defeat they suffered at Wordworth Drive in December.

The Peacocks will be striving to secure only their fourth away win of the season when they travel to Hampshire, with two of those coming last month in consecutive games at Worthing and Torquay United. However since those victories they have collected just two points from nine games, leaving the importance of a positive result tomorrow starkly obvious to avoid any gap opening up with Dartford or Eastbourne Borough, the two sides immediately above them.

The Town squad is unchanged apart from Jay Murray returning to play for his parent club Bridgwater United tomorrow. Head of Football Rob Dray commented:” It was a tough evening yesterday but that’s now gone, and we have four games left to get out of this situation. It’s a new day tomorrow and we must focus all our efforts on getting a positive result, we have had two great away draws in the past week and the lads have shown great spirit, so we have to keep that going for the next week or so and see where that takes us.”
