It has been another frustrating fortnight weatherwise for the Peacocks who will be eager to return to action when they welcome Farnborough in the Vanarama National League South tomorrow afternoon (9th December), ko 3.00pm.

Last Saturday’s trip to Eastbourne Borough ultimately proved a wasted journey after the game was called off due to fog before the second half could commence while a waterlogged pitch put paid to Tuesday’s scheduled home match against Slough Town. Weather permitting, tomorrow’s visit of Farnborough begins a quintet of games at the Somerset Campervan Co Stadium in December, with Weston-super-Mare, Torquay United, Tonbridge Angels and Yeovil Town all due before the year is out.

First though is a meeting with the side which accompanied Town into the National League last year and who secured their first League win on the road this season with a 4-3 victory at Aveley last weekend, fighting back superbly from 3-1 down to grasp a winner five minutes into stoppage time from Selim Saied. Their tails will no doubt be up then for the trip to Somerset following a run of six games without a win before last Saturday including four defeats. Their form prior to the start of November though when the Hampshire side were originally due to come to the Peacocks was much more impressive, a five game unbeaten run having lifted them to 4th spot. Since then they have dropped to 12th, but it is always a tough encounter against the Yellows and tomorrow will undoubtedly prove no different.

Head of Football Rob Dray names an unchanged squad from the Eastbourne game, with striker Nat Jarvis still sitting out a one game ban due to the abandonment. The Town boss remarked:” The stop-start scenario of the past six weeks continues. We need a run of home games or any game to be honest and hopefully tomorrow we can get the wheels in motion again against our old foes. It will be another tough test but one that we desperately want to tackle and get into regular match mode with such a heavy programme coming up.”

There are currently no issues for tomorrow’s game to go ahead but if the situation changes in light of the forecasted rain early tomorrow morning, updates will be posted via the normal channels.
