We are delighted to confirm that Jake Wannell is the latest player to commit to the Peacocks for the new National League season. The powerful centre half has been with the club for the past two years since signing from Salisbury.

Jake told tauntontown.com:” Firstly I want to thank all the fans and staff for an incredible season last year, memories for a lifetime. It was a fairly easy decision to accept the new terms. Obviously, there will be new hurdles to overcome this coming season, but I feel with this group along with some new additions we can be strong. Ever since joining a couple of years ago it’s felt like home to me, and that’s credit to Rob and staff creating that environment. I look forward to seeing you all back at the Cygnet in August. Let’s make it a good one again!”

The former Weymouth defender has become a pivotal force in defence since arriving at the club and Head of Football Rob Dray is pleased to retain his services, adding:” Without doubt the best left-sided defender in the division last season. He has a great personality, the body of a god and solid as you like at the back plus the best teeth at the club, what a boy we have in Jake 😉”
