The annual Stand Draw was held during the half-time interval of last Saturday’s pre-season friendly with Tavistock at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium. And the winner probably had a certain sense of déjà vu!
The draw, made by Phil Lowe from Tavistock FC, saw local company Les Marsh Carpets pulled out the hat for the second year running to have their name displayed on the South Stand at the Stadium in what will be a historic season for the club. Les, who is pictured with Kevin Sturmey following his success in last season’s draw, remarked:” Well! I can’t believe it’s two years running that Les Marsh Carpets have won the draw! I have followed Taunton Town for almost 55 years through the highs and lows, from Wembley to Villa Park, but this is now our highest league level, and we are on a roll! So much to look forward to in the upcoming season!”
