An early goal from Joe Guest steered the Peacocks to a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Slough Town in the 3rd Round Proper of the Isuzu FA Trophy this evening.
Guest netted the crucial goal after four minutes when he tucked home a cross from Jay Foulston but as the game wore on Town were forced to increasingly defend which they did admirably, with keeper Jack Bycroft pulling off some fine saves. Nat Jarvis received a harsh straight red card in the final minute, but the Peacocks held on during a lengthy bout of stoppage time to earn a trip to Torquay United in the next round on January 14th.
