Despite a mediocre display, the Peacocks progressed to the quarter final of the UES Somerset Premier Cup with a penalty shoot-out victory over Street this evening. The tie had finished 2-2 after 90 minutes after Town had struggled against the Western League side who sprang a shock by taking the lead on 10 minutes when Jake Mawford headed home a cross from the left. The home side drew level after 19 minutes when Ross Stearn turned on to a Lee Lucas pass to find the corner of the net before Street regained the lead on 64 minutes through Harry Durant who steered home Kyle Sampson’s cross from close range. The Peacocks equalised just three minutes from time when Jay Foulston’s ball into the box was converted by Malachi Linton to take the game to penalties, the hosts prevailing by a 4-3 margin.
