Taunton Town Football Club are delighted to announce that they are sponsoring Ultimate Pool Professional Player Shane Thompson for the forthcoming season.
Shane will be proudly wearing the club badge on his shirt during tournaments that he participates in. His bio is mightily impressive – currently he is:

Shane, nicknamed the Safecracker, has recently signed a deal with Chinese company ‘JOY Billiards‘ where he will be travelling to China in August and October to compete with the best players in the world. His goal for the season is to win at least one Ultimate Pool event (as the competition is so tough) and to stay in the top 16 of the rankings at the end of the year.
Shane commented: “I’m very happy to be teaming up with Taunton Town FC for the coming season. Since moving from Bristol I really needed a football fix and with the ground being only a 5 minute walk from home it was perfect for me. I’ve enjoyed watching Taunton since the first match I came to and seeing the team getting promoted into the National League South was something special. The fans are all fantastic and make everyone feel welcome which is great. Hopefully Taunton can keep producing on the pitch and I can keep producing on the table! UTP 💪🏼”
The club’s Retail & Commercial Manager Lee Derrick who is pictured with Shane remarked: “When Shane approached us for sponsorship it was a no brainer. He’s an extremely talented player and having watched Shane live and on the TV, it was a good opportunity for the club not just to help a local player but to also promote the club via another sport. Ultimate Pool is seen by millions all over the world, Ultimate have 1.4 million followers over all socials and have had 1.2 billion views last year alone which gives the club much more exposure”
The sponsorship will help Shane with travel expenses, entry fees to tournaments and accommodation.
