The Peacocks were knocked out of the Buildbase FA Trophy after going down 2-1 at Aveley in a 2nd Qualifying Round replay this evening (11th November).
The hosts pressured Town from the start and took the lead on 14 minutes when Alex Akrofi cut in from the left and arrowed a shot into the far corner. Jason Raad then ran from the halfway line through a static defence to slot home the second nine minutes later. Town pulled a goal back two minutes into stoppage time when Jack Rice headed home Matt Wright’s knockdown from close range but it was far too late to affect the outcome and it is Aveley who progress to the next round where they will travel to either Metropolitan Police or Biggleswade Town.
