A late goal from Dan Sullivan steered the Peacocks to a 2-1 Southern League win over Truro City at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium this afternoon (30th August).
Town made the ideal start, going ahead after 10 minutes when Ross Staley’s free kick wasn’t cleared and fell to Gethyn Hill who volleyed home into the far corner. Ryan Brett’s shot hit the post for the visitors who were reduced to ten men after 25 minutes when Ed Palmer was red carded for an elbow on Staley. Truro drew level on 66 minutes when Tyler Harvey converted a penalty and nearly scored again when Harvey’s free kick crashed off the bar. However it was the Peacocks who grabbed the three points one minute from time, Ollie Chamberlain drilling a centre across the box which fell to Sullivan who buried his strike past James Hamon.
