The Peacocks staged a terrific recovery from two goals down to beat Worthing 3-2 in the Vanarama National League South this afternoon thanks to a last minute goal from hat trick man Ross Stearn.

Worthing gained the advantage after 11 minutes when Ollie Pearce netted from the penalty spot after he had been brought down by keeper Lloyd Irish before the visitors doubled their lead on 42 minutes, Ibrahim Akanbi curling a strike into the corner after moving inside from the left. Town reduced the arrears on half time when Stearn tucked home a penalty after he had been upended by Worthing keeper Harrison Male before another spot kick brought the sides level nine minutes into the second half, Stearn slotting home after Joel Colbran had handled a Cameron Evans cross. The comeback was complete in the 90th minute when a fine pass from Lee Lucas released Stearn who rounded Male and steered over the line for the winner, a result which keeps the Peacocks 15th in the table with two games remaining.
