We are delighted to welcome new signing Louie Slough to the club from Dorchester Town.
The 22 year old defender, who can operate at centre half or full back, began his career as a young pro at Torquay United. He initially joined Dorchester on loan in October 2020 until the season was cut short due to Covid before a further loan spell followed at Bideford for the first half of the 2021-22 campaign. After returning to Dorchester for a second loan towards the end of the season he joined the Magpies permanently in the summer of 2022, going on to make 64 appearances for the club.
Louie said:” I’m really excited for a new challenge in my career. Taunton is a massive club that I know well. My dad spent a bit of time here as a player and he couldn’t speak highly enough of the club and fans. When I got told about this opportunity it was a no brainer, especially being a league higher and closer to home.”
Head of Football Rob Dray added:” Louie is a great young talent with some good pedigree and who is hungry to kick on at Taunton, as we have done with so many young players during the past five years. With the loss of Jake at the start of the season and then Jay we needed some left-side balance so Louie will undoubtedly help us in that department, and I look forward to seeing him develop further with us.”
