A goal just before the break continued the Peacocks’ winning start to pre-season as they beat Cribbs FC 1-0 this evening.

It proved a solid workout against the Hellenic League champions, with the crucial strike coming after 38 minutes when Nick McCootie applied the final touch to Dan Ball’s goalward header, and despite home protests that the ball had already gone out of play the goal stood. A Zac Smith header hit the crossbar during the second half which saw numerous substitutions while debutant keeper Dan Lavercombe was hardly troubled as Town made it two wins from two.
