Matt Wright scored two second half goals to salvage a point for the Peacocks as they drew 3-3 with Hendon in the BetVictor Southern League this evening (4th March).

The game was featureless until Town took the lead on 22 minutes when Dan Demkiv’s centre from the left fell to Harry Kite who drove home from the edge of the box. The visitors soon levelled three minutes later when Luca Allinson’s shot was deflected into his own net by Nick Grimes. More benevolent defending then saw Hendon score twice in the space of four minutes, Percy Kiangebeni and Joe White linking up for the latter to drive home past Lloyd Irish after 32 minutes before Lucien’s strike hit the crossbar and with Town slow to react Olarerin’s tame shot squirmed off Irish into the net on 36 minutes. The Peacocks saw several chances go begging before Matt Wright fired home from Jamie Short’s centre after 62 minutes to reduce the deficit and the Town skipper then hauled his side level with nine minutes remaining when he headed in Shane White’s cross to complete the comeback. Ollie Chamberlain was inches away from scoring a late winner for Town who had to settle for a point.
