The Peacocks eased to a 3-0 victory over Helston Athletic at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium in their latest pre-season friendly this evening.
It proved a comfortable win for the hosts who took the lead after 8 minutes when Nick McCootie blasted home a strike from just outside the box past Lloyd Marshall. Town missed further chances before finally doubling their lead three minutes before half time when Joe Guest converted Joe Budd’s cross. Dave Sims-Burgess added a third for the Peacocks on 66 minutes when he tucked in the loose ball after Jared Lewington had challenged Marshall but despite further opportunities including Budd firing against the crossbar there were no more goals.
