On Thursday 12th August, Taunton Town U18’s will play Tiverton Town Development U18’s for the Martin Ingram Memorial Cup.
Martin was an experienced coach and was well known in local footballing circles but sadly passed away nearly one year ago. He was previously involved with the Peacocks on the youth side, becoming the club’s Youth Development Officer back in 2004. He was also a former coach for Taunton Youth FC in the Junior Premier League, as well as being a regular face on the terraces supporting the Town first team. He was due to become the Tiverton Town U18 manager.
The game will take place at Speeds Meadow, home of Cullompton Rangers, kicking off around 7.30pm. Admission is £5 for adults and free for Under 16’s, with all proceeds being split between Cancer Research and St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice. The trophy will be presented by Martin’s son Simon who of course is a former Peacocks captain.
We hope as many of our supporters as possible will attend to remember Martin and help raise funds for such a good cause.
