The Peacocks play their final home game of the Vanarama National League South season when they entertain Weymouth tomorrow evening (25th April), ko 7.45pm.

After the weekend comeback win over Worthing, Town will want a repeat three points to sign off in front of their own fans as they look to make it eight wins from the last 12 games. They will also be conscious that a victory, apart from giving them the League double, would also lift them a further two places up the table to 13th position with one game left to play this coming weekend. The Dorset side meanwhile will have a different albeit more vital motive tomorrow as anything other than a win will see them relegated to the Southern League. They currently lie in 23rd spot, five points adrift of 20th placed Dulwich Hamlet who can escape the drop if they beat Concord Rangers tomorrow. Should the Terras secure victory at the Cygnet, they would then have to beat Dover in a winner takes all game on Saturday whilst also hoping that results elsewhere go in their favour.

With these permutations, a nervy night for the visitors is therefore in store but they will come into the match boosted by their 2-0 victory over Slough Town on Saturday which kept their hopes alive as they chase their sixth League win on the road this season tomorrow. Goalkeeper Jack Bycroft returns to the Peacocks’ squad after missing the Worthing match, otherwise it remains unchanged from Saturday with Nick McCootie suspended and captain Nick Grimes injured. Head of Football Rob Dray said:” Winning is a good habit and the last ten or so games have shown we have a huge appetite at this stage of a long and tiring yet successful season. Tomorrow we want to win again in our last home match of the season, we performed fantastically in the second half on Saturday and I want us to keep that momentum going in what will be a very tough match with Weymouth needing to win.”
