How would you like to sponsor your favourite Taunton Town player? We are seeking sponsors for each member of the Peacocks’ first team squad to help cover the costs of the various pieces of kit they will wear and use throughout the season. The cost of sponsorship is £100 so if you are interested or feel you can help out please email either chairman@tauntontown.com or clubshop@tauntontown.com Each player sponsor will receive two tickets to a home League match of their choice plus a voucher for the club shop.
Chairman Kevin Sturmey outlined the basis for the sponsorship.” Player sponsorship will help us become more professional in our quest for National League football”, he said, “as the monies raised help contribute towards the player’s training kit and travel wear. The Joma range offers fantastic kits and leisurewear and due to Covid-19 the players receive a pack of everything which they themselves look after. Prior to Covid we would have looked after much more but this means their clothing is theirs and also has their squad number on it which avoids sharing.”
“We are also investing in GPS trackers and vests which is a big investment for the club, and we will own these. In the past we were able to share thanks to our Partners at Bridgwater & Taunton College, but this is not an option now due to reducing risks associated with the current times. This will allow more sports science to be used and give us another one of those 1% that Rob Dray and I often mention.”
“It will not be normal (whatever that is now) for some time for all of us and any help we receive will be a big boost. As you will have seen, the players are giving everything on the pitch whilst off the pitch we will continually invest and improve to make a match day experience as special as we can. We are all in this together and we all know how important our club is to the community and how it helps to break down barriers so hope this season even more engagement can occur even if it is socially distant!”
