We are pleased to announce that Match Day commentary will be available for home and away games for the 2023-24 season via our new Radio Station “Peacocks Radio” provided by Mixlr.com.
Starting this Saturday for the opening game of the season at home to Braintree Town, the commentary service will be provided by our team of lead commentator, Rich Willcox-Smith and new addition Jon ‘Jozza’ Reed.
For each match day, the boys will create a special link to the radio website that will be posted on our social media pages or alternatively you can log onto https://peacocks-radio.mixlr.com/. Coverage will begin 10 minutes before each game as Rich and Jon build up to the action ahead. A live chat option will also be available so as the game progresses, you can ask the commentary team any questions about the match as it flows through the 90 minutes.
Speaking ahead of the new season, Rich couldn’t be more excited for the season to begin, saying:” I’m really excited to be able to announce that I will be carrying on the match day commentary service for the upcoming season. Last year we trialled the service via Twitter Spaces, and it got a good following for each game that was covered, but this season we want to go one better.
By launching Peacocks Radio on Mixlr, we will be able to bring you, the supporters, better standard coverage not just for home, but for all games, home and away. And now that I have Jon joining me, it will look and sound more professional too.”
Jon who is joining Rich for home and away games this season, will also be taking over the lead role in the early parts of the season. He has also expressed his thoughts on covering The Peacocks.
“First of all, I’d like to praise Rich on his commentary last season,” remarked Jozza. “He did a wonderful job on his own for the majority of the games he covered. Secondly, I’d like to thank him for giving me the opportunity to join him in the commentary box.
Having listened to Rich last season on Twitter Spaces, we both feel that the next logical step for us to take is to use Mixlr. Using Mixlr will allow us to provide you with better quality content, give you the opportunity to listen live, listen back to previous games and even interact with us as we go live using the ‘chat’ function. Both Rich and I are eager for the season to start and to bring you the best possible quality commentary we can. We both are working to make this something we are proud of, and we’d love you to join us on our journeys this season.”
