The club have moved to boost their attacking options with the signing of Mangotsfield United striker Dan Demkiv. The 23 year old has netted 13 league goals for the Field this season and will strengthen the strikeforce in the absence of top scorer Andrew Neal. Demkiv was part of the Southampton Academy from the age of 7 until 18 when he was released and joined Salisbury. Since then he has had spells at several clubs including Cirencester Town, Melksham Town and Frome Town before signing for Mangotsfield in December 2018, going on to win the Young Player of the Year award last season.

Commenting on signing for the Peacocks, Dan told tauntontown.com:” I’m happy to have signed for such a big club as Taunton. I can see how big the club is by the size of the home support week in, week out. I spoke to the manager and liked everything he had to say. The club also have aspirations of going higher and that is also something I want to achieve. Can’t wait to meet the lads and hopefully start scoring goals.”

Head of Football Rob Dray added:” Dan has great pedigree, knows the Southern League well and is still just 23. He is quick and hardworking, and one of the top goalscorers in the division below so will enhance our squad with a difficult set of games coming up.”

Welcome to the club Dan.
