A screamer from Jay Foulston helped the Peacocks record an impressive 9th consecutive Southern League win when they beat Swindon Supermarine 2-0 at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium this afternoon.

After a rather tepid goalless first half in which the visitors asked more questions going forward, Town grabbed the lead on 50 minutes when a Ben Adelsbury header was kept out by the hand of Marine striker Harry Williams who was sent off, with Ross Stearn duly obliging from the penalty spot. Foulston added a second goal with 12 minutes remaining, weaving in from the left to rifle a fine strike past Marine keeper Martin Horsell. The win is the Peacocks’ 16th unbeaten game on the spin in all competitions and keeps them in 4th place although their prospects have improved further with leaders Farnborough and Hayes & Yeading both dropping points.
