After the departure of four players this week, we will be redressing the balance by announcing some exciting new signings over the next few days.
Firstly the club are delighted to confirm that top striker Toby Holmes will be signing for the Peacocks.
The 27 year old Holmes has been a prolific scorer in Southern League football for several seasons. After spells at Parley Sports, Poole Town and Dorchester Town, his career really took off when he joined Wimborne Town in 2016 where in a three year stint at the club scored 132 goals from just 143 appearances and won the Southern League Golden Boot award in 2017-18. After leaving Wimborne last summer he signed for Salisbury and had found the net 21 times in all competitions before the season came to a premature end.
Holmes commented:” I’m so pleased to sign for Taunton and looking forward to the season starting again. I will always give 100% and leave nothing on the pitch.” Head of Football Rob Dray added:” I am very pleased with the capture of Toby as he has been one of the most prolific strikers in the Southern League for a while. He is a very respectable young man and we know that he will work hard and get us goals.”
