A goal in first half stoppage time saw the Peacocks through to the 4th Round Qualifying of the Emirates FA Cup with a 1-0 win over Walton & Hersham at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium this afternoon. It was far from convincing though against the lower ranked Swans who can consider themselves unfortunate not to have forced a replay.

Jake Wannell saw a header strike the post from the hosts’ opening corner, but it was the visitors who offered more going forward. Despite this it was the Peacocks who grabbed the only goal of the contest in first half stoppage time when Walton keeper Liam Allen parried Lloyd James’ free kick but couldn’t prevent it rolling over the line. Nick McCootie hit the post for Town after the break as his side survived some nervy moments to progress to Monday’s draw.
