After a difficult week off the pitch, the Peacocks play their first game of 2024 when they travel to Slough Town in the Vanarama National League South tomorrow (6th January), ko 3.00pm.

The last seven days have seen six players depart Wordsworth Drive, with Lee Lucas, Dylan Morgan, Dave Sims-Burgess, Joe Guest and Nick McCootie all having left while Malachi Linton’s loan was ended. The squad that makes the journey to Berkshire will therefore have a different complexion than the one which lost at Yeovil last time out on Boxing Day. Slough sit one place above the Peacocks in 18th place, one point ahead and with two more games played but having suffered only two defeats from nine league games since the start of November, most recently at Hampton & Richmond on New Year’s Day. Taunton meanwhile have won just once in their past ten league outings so a three point return would be more than welcome to arrest that trend.

The Peacocks include recent signing Louie Slough in the squad along with Evander Grubb who has recently been playing at Southern League Mousehole.
