The Peacocks attempt to halt a worrying run of only one win in 13 Vanarama National League South games when they host Slough Town tomorrow evening (16th January), ko 7.45pm.

The match gives Taunton a perfect chance for swift revenge over the Rebels who comfortably won the first encounter between the sides in Berkshire just over a week ago. Slough followed that up with a fine win at Bath City but were brought back down to earth on Saturday when they lost 3-0 at Weymouth, a result which leaves them occupying 13th position. The Peacocks lie six points adrift of tomorrow’s visitors in 20th place but with the fixture being a game in hand on most sides above them, the importance of a three point return is obvious to hopefully kick start a run into calmer waters.

Ollie Chamberlain, who went off at half time on Saturday with a muscle complaint is fit to return for selection in an otherwise unchanged Peacocks’ squad. Head of Football Rob Dray is looking for an improvement from the weekend, remarking: “We need to build on Saturday and take our chances. The young players are learning on the job and have to be patient, but I can’t fault their desire and workrate. Whilst I was disappointed not to beat Dover on Saturday, that is now gone, and we must fully focus on looking to put things right tomorrow.”
