More players have agreed terms with the Peacocks following the completion of pre-season and these will be announced before the new campaign kicks off on Saturday.

Firstly we are delighted to confirm that Lee Lucas will be remaining with the club for 2022-23 following a successful spell during pre-season.

The experienced former Swansea City and Motherwell midfielder has endured a severely frustrating time with the club since his arrival in the summer of 2020, firstly suffering a pre-season injury which restricted his involvement and eventually required an operation and then after battling back to fitness for last season, he ruptured his cruciate ligament last October which ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Lee told tauntontown.com:” I’m delighted to be back. Pre-season has gone well mentally and physically coming off the back of a long-term injury. I’ve put a lot of hard work in to get myself back out there and I’m just fully focused now on enjoying my football again and helping the club to hopefully another successful season.”

Head of Football Rob Dray added:” Football is a hard, hard industry and Lee has seen all sides in his career. His mental strength is just remarkable, he is one of the most popular members of the squad and an absolute joy to manage. He plays the game about two seconds before anyone else and we are very privileged to keep him after his injury.”
