We’re in the Final! The Peacocks reached their first ever Southern League Challenge Cup Final with a 2-1 victory at Swindon Supermarine this evening.

The win makes it a terrific 18 games unbeaten for Town who began badly to trail after 6 minutes, Kieran Phillips chipping the ball over Will Buse following some sloppy defending. They remained off the boil for the first half but raised their game after the interval and drew level on 65 minutes, Toby Holmes breaking through to lob home over Martin Horsell. From then on Town looked the likeliest team to grab the winner and this they did with 12 minutes remaining, Holmes claiming his brace after winning the ball in the box and firing home despite Horsell’s attempt to save. The Peacocks now look forward to a Final meeting with Royston Town who beat Rushall Olympic this evening on penalties after a 3-3 draw.
