A last-gasp winner from Gethyn Hill secured a 2-1 Southern League victory for the Peacocks over Hartley Wintney this afternoon.

Town were close to making an early breakthrough when Toby Holmes’ header hit the bar, but it was the visitors who grabbed the lead after nine minutes when a corner was cleared as far as Jordan Edwards and his shot from the edge of the box beat Will Buse. The Peacocks drew level on 28 minutes when Jay Foulston’s corner was headed back into the middle by Ben Adelsbury and skipper Nick Grimes slotted home from close range to leave it all square at the interval. After an uninspiring second half it seemed as though Town would drop home points until Hill popped up with the decider three minutes into added time when Ioan Richards’ header from a Ross Stearn free kick rebounded off the post and Hill steered the loose ball over the line to clinch a vital win and their first league double of the campaign.
