There was plenty of Peacock festive cheer this week when Secret Santa gifts were given to representatives of our Stadium Sponsor Cygnet Health Care. Club Chairman Kevin Sturmey is pictured handing over the presents to Sam Taylor, the newest member of the Cygnet Active Life team, who most appropriately is also a lifelong Taunton Town fan!

Sam said”: It was a huge honour to pick up these gifts on behalf of the Hospital and they will be incredibly well received by all of our patients.”

Stuart Hooper, Active Life lead at Cygnet Taunton, who also attended the handover, added:” Kevin and his team are truly supportive of us, and our partnership continues to grow. Future events are planned such as “Care for the Carers” fixtures with the club offering to support the event for carers and family members in the VIP suite.”

Tubs of chocolates were also donated for those working in the Hospital over the festive period. Kevin commented:” Our Partnership has blossomed with Cygnet over the last few years in times which have, and continue to be, very difficult for many people. Growing deeper into the Community is vital for us as football is a sport that can break down so many barriers unlike any other sport in the world; everyone has an opinion of football and we value those opinions as diversity and inclusion is vital to future growth. We will continue to work closely with Cygnet, launching the Community Engagement Hub in January which will provide opportunities for patients and the local community to engage together through the medium of football. I have visited the Hospital for the past three years so it was a shame it couldn’t happen this time around, but we continue to engage at our matches and in 2023 I hope I will be able to visit the local Cygnet Hospital again.”
