We were delighted to welcome some families from the local Halcon area to our game with Tonbridge Angels last Saturday. The club received a very kind donation from a Season Ticket holder which it wanted to use to help families in the Halcon community, one of the most deprived areas in the West Country. As a result, twelve children and their families attended last weekend’s match when they were given two presents for Christmas Day, a voucher to spend in the Club Shop and a season ticket for every child and a family member to cover the rest of the season.

Chairman Kevin Sturmey commented:” It is so important we all realise how important family is and while we are all entrenched in football matters, days like this show how much of a community asset Taunton Town FC is. The families had a great day, and we hope it helped make Christmas special this year for the children whilst also hopefully adding more Peacocks’ supporters for the future.

Thanks also to my wife Kerry who did most of the work, wrapped the presents and supported me throughout the three day process. It got me off my sick bed and motivated me after a week of illness. Without my wife’s continued support Taunton Town would be a lot worse off!”
