The club are delighted to announce their first recruit of the close season as we welcome striker Archie Ferris to Wordsworth Drive.
Archie enjoyed a highly successful campaign last time out, netting 22 goals in all competitions to finish as leading scorer with Southern League Division One South side Larkhall Athletic in his first season with them. Prior to his move to Bath last summer, he had spent eight years with Clevedon Town, joining them in July 2015 from the North Somerset Football Development side. He initially represented the Seasiders’ Under 18’s before going on to make 203 senior appearances and score 57 goals for the club where he was also appointed team captain in 2021.
Archie told us:” I’m really excited to be given the opportunity to represent such a big, great club. Hopefully, I can score goals, excite fans, win games and push this club back up where it belongs. Being local and playing against Taunton before means knowing how much it means to the fans, and I will be one who will give everything for every game. I’m looking forward to it.”
Taunton’s recently appointed manager Richard Luffman is equally thrilled to get the talents of Ferris on board, saying: “Archie had an amazing season last term and was in my opinion one of the top three strikers in the league along with Duru who we had at Cribbs. Archie is big, powerful, can play back to goal and is a creative player’s dream as he’s a team first striker. A great start to our recruitment for next season.”
