A Zac Smith goal eight minutes from time secured a vital 1-0 Vanarama National League South win for the Peacocks at Welling United this evening. Town had the better of a goalless first half before the hosts improved after the break. However it was the visitors who notched the crucial goal, Nat Jarvis was brought down for a penalty and although Myles Roberts saved Smith’s effort, the loose ball was fired home to claim victory and lift the Peacocks up one place to 19th.
