The Peacocks picked up their second pre-season win in as many games with a 2-0 win at Bridgwater Town yesterday evening (12th July) with goals either side of the break.

The first half saw very few chances although both teams had a sniff at goal. Town broke the deadlock on 31 minutes when Luke Manley was on hand to nod home following a Dan Sullivan effort that was saved by Jake Viney. The second half saw the hosts make the better start but stand- in keeper James Sleaman-Keane coped competently with anything coming his way. After Ollie Chamberlain had hit the post with a shot from the left side of the box, the Peacocks finally sealed the win with nine minutes remaining when Noah Coppin got on the end of a low cross from Josh Grant.

Reaction- Head of Football Rob Dray said:” Another useful work-out, meaning we have got 90 minutes into most of the squad in the first week, no injuries and a couple of wins and importantly clean sheets. We now go into three games in a short space of time against the pro clubs where we will not see a lot of the ball which is good in one way as it will allow us to see where we are when we don’t have possession.”
