The Peacocks secured their second successive victory on the road in the Vanarama National League South with a stunning 3-0 win at Torquay United this evening.

The three points were fully deserved following an excellent performance with Town building a two goal lead by the break. Nat Jarvis turned onto a Lloyd James pass to fire a fine finish past Gulls keeper Mark Halstead after 22 minutes before Cameron Evans flicked a header home at the near post from Zac Bell’s long throw just four minutes later. Ross Stearn who had only been on the pitch for three minutes then picked up a clearance on the hour to drill home a beauty from 25 yards to put the Peacocks out of sight at 3-0 and it could have been more when Ollie Chamberlain struck the bar in the final ten minutes, with the Gulls offering little threat in response. Victory lifts Town out of the relegation zone into 18th spot and it’s now fingers crossed that the weather behaves to allow Thursday’s home game with Weston-super-Mare to go ahead.
